Dr.
John Rawlings
John W. Rawlings
was the pastor of Landmark Baptist Temple in Cincinnati,
Ohio for almost 50 years and he was a founder of
Baptist Bible Fellowship.
He served as Vice President of
Baptist Bible College
until 1975 when he was elected President of the BBFI.
The Landmark Hour was a radio broadcast of the Sunday
evening service of the
Landmark
Baptist Temple for over 25 years beginning in the
1960's through the 1980's. At its height the service was
broadcast on over 800 radio stations worldwide. Usually
the message was from the pastor, Dr. Rawlings, but
occasionally the speaker would be one of the great
preachers of that day including B. R. Lakin, G. B. Vick,
R. G. Lee, and John R. Rice. The very popular music
program of the church was also featured including the
Landmark Choir and the Landmark Quartet that toured the
country with Dr. Rawlings in the late 1960's. Since his
retirement from the church, Dr. John has led the
Rawlings Foundation to help churches in America and to
provide property assets for the work of missionaries and
national pastors in many countries. On Tuesday, May 16,
2000, Dr.
Jerry Falwell presented a plaque to Dr. Rawlings
honoring him as the outstanding Baptist Pastor of the
20th century. The Center for Ministry Training at
Liberty University
had chosen Dr. Rawlings for the recognition.

Dr.
Major Lewis Jemison
serves as the Senior Pastor of Oklahoma City's
St.
John Missionary Baptist Church. As St. John's Senior
Pastor, Dr. Jemison also serves as CEO of the St. John
Christian Heritage Academy, a private, State accredited
Christian school serving students in pre-kindergarten
through sixth grade. St. John Church is an urban
congregation of 2,500 members, 7 full-time staff members,
13 part-time staff members and numerous committed
volunteers. The Church operates with a budget in excess of
$ 3.5 million and property holdings valued at $6 million.
Dr. Jemison recently completed a four-year term as
President and Chief Executive Officer of the
Progressive
National Baptist Convention, Inc. (PNBC), an
association of approximately 1,800 Baptist churches
throughout the world with a collective membership of more
than 2.5 million persons.
Most recently, Dr. Jemison was invited by Rev. Jesse
Jackson to join the staff of
Operation Push as Vice
President of Social Justice and Church Development, a
position he has held since 2006.
Jemison’s formal educational pursuits began at
Bishop
College in Dallas when he received the Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Religion & Philosophy, with emphasis on Church
Ministries & Pastoral Care in 1977. In 1979, he was
certified as a Psychiatric Counselor by
Timberlawn
Psychiatric Hospital in Dallas. Jemison received the
Master of Theology Degree from
Southern Methodist
University in 1982. He completed the
Doctor of Ministry Degree in 1990 from
Midwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Kansas City. In 1994, Dr.
Jemison received a certificate from
Harvard University
School of Divinity.
Dr. Jemison has been married to his college sweetheart,
the former Jacqueline Norris, for more than 30 years and
they are the proud parents of one son, MaKinsley, who will
be entering Georgetown College (KY) this fall
as a freshman.
Dr. Jemison has been committed to sharing the gospel with
the world (especially those of African Heritage) since
receiving his call to the ministry while attending Bishop
College. He believes in enhancing the lives of those who
have been neglected and depleted by tribal wars and tribal
genocide. This commitment moved upon him after reading the
biblical mandate that brings us to minister to those who
are the least, the last, the lost and the left out in our
world.
Being of African descent, the call to service and
commitment to the Mother Country is more binding and
compelling because many of the faces looks, “JUST LIKE
ME.” They mirror my brothers and my sisters and remind me
of those I love so dearly from my own immediate family.
After 15 years of being made uneasy, I welcome the
opportunity to serve on the Executive Board of
International Baptist Network, an organization whose
missionary effort is designed to create hope and happiness
for a people who have been deprived and ignored much too
long.
